What Is Write On?

The creative inspiration for this company was the moment that I realised I not only couldn’t tutor all the students that enquired, but that I couldn’t teach the students whose parents had to decide that they couldn’t afford the extra help.

As a teacher of so many years standing, I am well aware that with a smile and a concept put clearly, slowly and with a well-placed example, a student can make progress where they didn’t think that they could.

As a mum who has educated two of her three children at different points, I am also aware of the feeling of being overwhelmed, needing to know enough about a subject in order to get help, and just wanting an assurance that my children will be given the chance to learn all the stuff.

About me

My name is Lorraine and I have been a secondary school teacher in the UK for 24 years; whilst my children were young, I have also tutored extensively for eight. During this time, I have seen many students benefit from my expertise both in English and as Literacy Coordinator.
 
Whilst tutoring, I have often experienced frustration that the cost of tutoring - getting that extra bit of support - is often sufficiently high, that it puts many off the idea of getting help.
 
This is where Write On! comes in. I have created sessions which are fun and informative whilst teaching the essentials needed for each of the texts, or subjects. As  two of my children have, at points, needed to be home educated, I am well aware of what a child needs to have something fully explained, and checked back, whilst being online.
